<image:title>WING STUDIO. | WORKPAGE | SPACE - Luminosa.</image:title>
<image:caption>Urban Planning Size: 33 acres Location: Hong Kong Luminosa is a project that aims to re-imagine the notion of public place in the context of Hong Kong. The society is undergoing drastic transformation but the rapid development of the urban skyline does not necessarily reflect the actual needs of the people. The underground project mainly emphasizes on the contrasts of - past and future; light and shade; busyness and quietness; as well as density and vastness, etc. To create a combination of vibrant underground spaces for the public to walk, gather and stay. It aims to provide a human-centric public space to balance out the hectic city life. “Luminosa” makes reference to a natural phenomenon: Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Insulated from the external world, the caves are filled with imaginations where one can relax and enjoy. “Luminosa” is mainly divided into three zones, namely the Past, Present, and Future, designed for different kinds of uses to meet the public demand. The ‘Past’ is a series of corridors to be transformed from the historical air-raid shelters to form galleries and exhibition spaces. The ‘Present’ is a sports centre, as an underground extension to the existing public swimming pool. Part of it is Skate Park which is rare in Hong Kong. The ‘Future’ is a place dedicated to the public, a grand hall designed to contrast with the street level activities. Its voidness and quietness contrast with the aboveground crowdedness and noises. The underground space also aims at enhancing the connectivity within and around Tsim Sha Tsui, becoming the starting point of the wider underground pedestrian network in the future that link up different areas like the West Kowloon Cultural district, harbourfront cultural district, and other surrounding land uses. “Luminosa” can be accessed from various entrances at different levels, both underground and ground levels, connecting the nearby MTR stations and Kowloon Park to form an all-weather public realm. </image:caption>

<image:caption>Location: Wan Chai, Hong Kong Urban Intervention Size: non specific Year: 2021 A Local Problem REGEN Urban Initiative a Sustainable way to regenerate the neighborhood A better solution Hong Kong is notoriously known for its densely populated urban environment. There is only about 2M square of public space per person, which is even less than that of Seoul (5.8m2/p) and Tokyo (6.1m2/p). The city has undergone a drastic socio political reform. One of the reasons for this problem is the lack of quality public social spaces in working class neighbourhoods. Part of a cultural problem is that people find it difficult to ask for help. This feeling of being ignored creates a domino effect that can give fuel to the more radical of activists. A Better Solution ReGen Urban Initiative (RUI) is a new local non-profit initiative that aims to re-create better Urban spaces . Based on the modest model of place making in collaboration with the local communities and urban farming. Each site utilises a combination of modular market place, sitting and hydroponic systems to maximise the potential of these community gardens. The construction cost of the urban intervention are subsidised by both government and the retailers/restaurant owners; this way the retailer can retain significant economic value from the high footfall of bring into the high street. The modular units are mass prefabricated and each consists 18 component frames. Users can customise their market stand or urban pocket park to fit to different sites and individual needs. The urban intervention is highly contextualised and adaptive to serve the neighbourhoods. The modular unit are entirely energy independent. This bottom up approach initiative allows every citizen to get involved in the process of place makeing. So that they can create a unique communal living room that can truly be called home.</image:caption>

Taken consideration of the existing structural elements of the house. we had spited the Live (private) & Work (public) space into half quite literally. <image:title>WING STUDIO. | WORKPAGE | SPACE - REGEN URBAN FARM | Sky Garden + Automated Urban Farm + Communal Allotment</image:title>
<image:caption>This program sets out a brief to deign a network of adaptive, scalable architectural interventions in an contexture sub-urban/ edge-land neighbourhood. Connected by a layer of new farming technology. Which can enable the local communities of suburban Hong Kong to respond to the collapsing food system crisis that the world is facing. “the single biggest threat of climate change is the collapse of food systems.” Jerry Hatfield, The USDA scientist In 2014 The International Panel on Climate Change(IPCC) report has predicted that by mid-century the world may reach a threshold of global warming beyond which current agricultural practices can no longer support large human civilisations. “Our food systems have not been designed to adapt to major disruptions like climate change” says environmental journalist Amanda Little. She shows how the climate crisis could devastate our food supply - and introduces us to the farmers, entrepreneurs and engineers who are radically rethinking what we grow and how we eat, combining traditional agriculture with state-of-the-art technology to create a robust, resilient and sustainable food future. Over the past few decades, the share of locally grown fresh vegetables has dropped from over 30 per cent of the Hong Kong market in 1986 to just 1.7 per cent in 2016, which means the territory relies heavily on imported food. Can plant based farms produce make self-sufficient neighbourhoods within the city of Hong Kong ? In this project I will argue that the answer may be found with the existing community and Neighbourhood infrastructures. This is achieved by proposing local community farming. A New circular economy model into local products, regenerate edge land and add an additional layer of a spiritual journey to the natural resources. Rather than the current exploitation of natural resources. Architectural spatial intervention are networked together by a layer of meditative natural walking and distribution routes. Bringing sustainable farm crops and produce closed to every citizen. By doing so increasing community interaction. encourage responsible consumption area, greener healthier diet.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Installation Art Materials: switchable glass, metal, Plywood, sensor Dimension: 4.8 W x 4.8 L x 2 H (m) ‘Making plans for the future is of use only to the people who are capable of living completely in the present’ Alan Watts In the city like Hong Kong, the old buildings stand as they were whilst this new generation of skyscrapers overcast a massive shadow and hide them from limelight forever. The new buildings are emerging so fast, at a speed which leaves us feeling nothing but confused. The speed of all of this development has widened the gap so much so it feels like we live in two small and very different cities instead of one. We can find a glossy, glittering skyscrap- er on one side of the road and the crumble modern building on the other side. Ironically, we live in such an environment which shapes us humans to who we are and what we become, without us realising. The installation-Here and Now is created to question the existence of the tectonic world in between old & new, ruins & growth, time to time. which I am always fascinated about. and also make us slow down and truly sense the world around us. Ultimately, to make us ‘living completely in the present”</image:caption>

If willows wither, they will turn green again. If peach blossoms fade, they will flower again”. Transient Days by Zhu Ziqing Past, is history, is the events occurred yesterday ; Present, is here and now, is what happens in front of us; Future, is an adventure, an unknown number that cannot be traced. Time is uncontrollable. Time is unpredictable. Sometimes like a shooting star; sometimes slow as snail; sometime run at a constant pace. Its orbit, its a loop. Time has fulfilled his duty, running on the endless track. the comforts that people take for granted, till the day we realise time is running out. In an instant, people lost their way. we are too blind to the present; we can never see the future; only the past. Time will never reverse. It will wait for nobody. what's left is the trace of time.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Location: Sai Ying Pun, Hong Kong Art Installation Year: 2018 “Schools began with a man under a tree who did not know he was a teacher, sharing his realisation with a few others who did not know they were students” Louis Kahn Change is the only constant in today over digitalise world. We are constantly bombarded by overload information. If we aren't checking our emails; We are texting someone on phone or watching news on tv. We are constantly stay connected, but ironically most of the things that improve our productivity, also make us less imaginative. The Tree of Life (2018) is an art installation piece, created to rediscover the emotion of “boredom”. Through letting your mind wonder off for moments. Whether reading a book or staring at empty space. By doing nothing you are actually being your most productive and creative self.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Limited Edition Art print on Archival paper Size: 210mm x 297 mm Print: Harman Matt Cotton Textured 300gsm ”In order to truly see the world, you need to draw.” Old Town Hong Kong is an ongoing project which seeks to capture the spirit of Hong Kong's downtown. I am interested in the buildings that are slowly fading from the modern map and the delicate fragments left over from the old urban fabric. I believe it to be of great importance that we capture them before they disappear forever in front of our very eyes.</image:caption>
